The EMB Brader Scholarship
We at the Easton Municipal Band are pleased to announce the EMB Brader Music Scholarship. This year, the $1,000 scholarship will be awarded at our June 20th concert (rain date 21st). Funds will go directly to the applicant.
The scholarship has a few requirements and these are detailed below. AFTER you've read the requirements and if you're qualified, two more steps must be completed. There's a couple of ways to complete these.

Complete an application. This can be done online OR by downloading / printing, completing, and mailing a form. You'll be directed to the online and downloadable form after reading the requirments.

Complete an essay discussing "How has instrumental music strengthened my character or helped me overcome challenges?" The essay is a maximum of 500 words. You may save your completed essay as a PDF file and email or print it and mail it via the US Postal Service. Please be sure to include your name on your essay!

Scholarship Requirements
The scholarship applicant must be:

A High School Senior in 2025-26.

An Easton Municipal Band (EMB) member, a relative of a current, active EMB member (an active member has attended rehearsals/concerts since May, 2025), or someone that is sponsored by an EMB Member.

Planning to continue higher education after High School and plan to continue musical activities, that is, attending college and performing in college musical groups and / or receiving private instrumental instruction. Majoring in music is not a requirement.

Scholarship Background and Funding
This scholarship is in honor of Kenneth Brader, Sr. (Brass Instruments and Piano), Kenneth E. Brader, Jr. (Clarinet, Saxophone, and Flute), and Kenneth E. Brader, III (Trumpet). The family were owners of Ken Brader and Son in downtown Easton for almost 40 years.
